Code of Ethics

    Last updated: March 2026

Visionary Marketing operates to the highest ethical standards. This code of ethics governs how we conduct business, interact with clients, and represent ourselves in the digital marketing industry.

    1. Honesty & Transparency

We are honest about what digital marketing can and cannot achieve. We do not guarantee specific rankings, traffic levels, or revenue outcomes. We provide realistic projections based on data and experience, and we clearly communicate the risks and uncertainties involved in any campaign. If a strategy is not working, we tell clients directly and recommend changes.

    2. No Black-Hat Practices

We do not engage in any manipulative or deceptive SEO or advertising practices, including:

    • Link schemes, paid link farms, or private blog networks (PBNs)
    • Keyword stuffing, cloaking, or hidden text
    • Fake reviews, testimonials, or social proof
    • Click fraud or artificial inflation of advertising metrics
    • Misleading ad copy or deceptive landing pages

All our strategies comply with Google's Webmaster Guidelines, Google Ads policies, and the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) Code.

    3. Client Data & Confidentiality

Client data is treated as strictly confidential. We do not share client strategies, performance data, or business information with competitors or third parties without explicit consent. All team members are bound by confidentiality obligations. Client access credentials are stored securely and only accessed by authorised personnel.

    4. Fair Reporting

We report on metrics that matter to business outcomes — not vanity metrics. We do not selectively present data to make performance appear better than it is. All reports include clear methodology, data sources, and context for the numbers presented. If there are caveats or limitations in the data, we disclose them.

    5. Conflict of Interest

We will not take on clients who are direct competitors in the same market and geography without full disclosure and consent from all parties involved. Where a potential conflict exists, we raise it proactively and allow affected clients to decide how to proceed.

    6. Intellectual Property

We respect intellectual property rights. All content we create for clients is original or properly licensed. We do not plagiarise competitors' content, and we ensure that all images, graphics, and media used in campaigns are properly licensed or created in-house.

    7. Industry Contribution

We contribute to the digital marketing community through our research publications, blog content, and data-driven insights. We share genuine knowledge and aim to raise standards across the industry. Our published research uses real data and transparent methodology.

    8. Accountability

If we make a mistake, we own it. We take responsibility for our work and its outcomes. If you believe we have not met the standards set out in this code, contact chris@visionary-marketing.co.uk and we will investigate and respond promptly.
