How Interlinked Wellness Stopped Paying for Google Ads
Niko's wellness clinic was fully dependent on paid Google Ads across two metros. Twelve months in, the local SEO foundation was compounding hard enough that paid spend was paused entirely - the clinic now books out a month in advance from organic alone.

Overview
What is Local SEO?
Local SEO is the work of ranking a business for searches made in, or about, a specific place. It has two battlegrounds: the Google Map Pack, ranked from your Google Business Profile, and local organic results, ranked from your website. Both need attention, because they reward different signals. Single-location businesses on smaller budgets can start this work through our SEO agency for small businesses service.
It encompasses Google Business Profile optimisation, local citation building across directories, review management, local content strategy, and location-specific on-page optimisation. Our expert SEO services help you rank highly in local search results, maps, and the Google local pack.
We specialise in multi-location local SEO, managing multiple locations simultaneously with consistent optimisation and reporting - whether you're in London, Newcastle, or any UK city.
By integrating cutting-edge AI technology with proven local SEO strategies, we deliver business localisation services that drive measurable footfall and phone calls.
46% of all Google searches have local intent. If you're not optimised locally, you're invisible to nearly half of searchers.
Visionary Marketing delivers SEO for UK and international brands, with senior specialists on every account. We combine deep technical expertise with commercial strategy to deliver measurable organic growth.

Pricing
How Much Does Local SEO Cost in the UK?
Local SEO with Visionary costs £1,300 to £2,500 a month on a month to month retainer. Single-location campaigns start at the floor; multi-location work prices toward the cap. The tier structure behind these figures is published in full on our monthly SEO packages page.
Visionary local SEO retainers start at £1,300 per month and cap at £2,500 per month for complex, multi-location scopes. That buys senior delivery - you work directly with Chris, a top proven expert with 15+ years' experience, never handed off to a junior. A single-location programme covers:
- Google Business Profile optimisation and management
- Citation building and NAP consistency across directories (Name, Address, Phone)
- Local review management and response strategy
- Local content creation (location-specific blog posts, service pages)
- Local keyword research and targeting
Multi-location businesses with 5 or more branches sit at the top of our band (up to £2,500 per month) to manage multiple Google Business profiles, ensure citation consistency across locations, and maintain location-specific content for each office.
Highly competitive markets (London, major city centres) where businesses compete intensely for local visibility may cost 20-30% more due to increased competition and required effort.
Local SEO isn't a one-time fix - it's an ongoing process. Google reranks local results constantly using three factors it names publicly: proximity, relevance and prominence. Everything on this page maps to one of those three. We offer flexible local SEO packages with no long-term contracts, so you can adjust your service level as your business grows.
The Google Business Profile Maturity Curve
Most local SEO agencies treat Google Business Profile as a checkbox - name, address, phone done. That's stage one of four. Below is the maturity curve we walk every local engagement through, and what each stage actually unlocks. Most accounts we audit are operating at stage one or two when they should be at three or four.
Each stage is a prerequisite for the next. Skipping ahead doesn't work - Google's local algorithm treats GBP maturity as a cumulative signal. Most accounts get stuck at stage 2 because the agency is doing GBP-only work without citation parity, review velocity, or schema reinforcement on the website.
Monthly Deliverables
Google Business Profile Management: What We Deliver Every Month
Google Business Profile management is a named deliverable in every local SEO retainer, not an add-on. Each month we optimise the profile itself, publish Posts, respond to reviews and police your name, address and phone data across the web. Here is the full deliverable set.
Included in retainer
Seven named deliverables, every month
Profile optimisation
Business description, services, attributes, photos, opening hours and service areas kept complete and current. Incomplete profiles concede Map Pack positions to competitors who fill every field. We also tag the profile's website links so profile-driven visits show up separately in your analytics.
Category selection
Your primary category is the single strongest relevance signal a profile sends. We set it to the exact-match category for your core service, then audit secondary categories quarterly against the businesses actually ranking in your Map Pack.
Google Posts
Offers, updates and event Posts published to a schedule. Posts keep the profile active, occupy extra space in your profile panel, and give searchers a reason to choose you over the listing above or below.
Review responses
Every review gets an owner response in your brand voice. We flag policy-violating reviews to Google for removal and set up compliant ways to ask happy customers for feedback. We never buy or incentivise reviews; Google suspends profiles for it.
NAP consistency
Your name, address and phone number must match exactly across your website, your Google Business Profile and every citation. Mismatched NAP data undermines Google's confidence in your listing and suppresses rankings. We audit it, fix it and keep it fixed.
Citation building and cleanup
We build and correct listings across core UK directories and the industry-specific sites that matter for your sector. The citation matrix further up this page ranks the 25 directories we prioritise, so you can see exactly where the hours go.
Local pack ranking factors
The Map Pack ranks on proximity, relevance and prominence. Proximity is fixed - we cannot move your premises. So we work the other two: relevance through categories, profile data and location page content; prominence through reviews, citations and links from locally relevant sites.
UK Coverage
Local SEO Across the UK - City Coverage
We deliver local SEO for businesses anywhere in the UK. Campaigns run remotely with the same deliverable set in every city, and we publish dedicated pages for the cities where we work most.
London
Local SEO for London businesses competing in the UK's most contested Map Packs, from single-borough trades to multi-branch brands.

Structured Data
LocalBusiness Schema Markup: Structured Data as a Deliverable
We add LocalBusiness structured data to your site as standard. It is JSON-LD code that states your exact name, address, phone number, opening hours, geography and service area in a format Google reads directly, supporting your Map Pack and knowledge panel eligibility.
The markup we implement covers the fields Google actually uses: business name, full postal address, telephone, geo coordinates, openingHoursSpecification, areaServed and sameAs references to your official profiles. Where a more specific schema.org subtype exists for your business, such as Dentist, Plumber or Restaurant, we use it instead of the generic LocalBusiness type, because subtype precision is a relevance signal.
Two rules keep this deliverable honest. First, the markup must match the visible page: we never mark up ratings or details that are not genuinely displayed on your site. Second, multi-location businesses get one markup block per location page, each with that branch's own NAP data, never one head-office block for the whole estate. Every implementation is validated in Google's Rich Results Test and then monitored in Search Console for errors.
- "name"
- Registered trading name
- "address"
- Full postal address
- "telephone"
- Branch phone number
- "geo"
- Latitude and longitude
- "openingHoursSpecification"
- Day-by-day hours
- "areaServed"
- Service area coverage
- "sameAs"
- Official profile references

Rich Results Test on implementation, Search Console monitoring thereafter.
Multi-Location
Multi-Location Local SEO for Franchises and Chains
Multi-location local SEO means one Google Business Profile, one location page and one citation set per branch, managed under a single strategy. We run this structure for franchises, chains and multi-branch firms, with per-location reporting so every branch is accountable.
Multi-location retainers price toward the top of our range and cap at £2,500 a month. Where a chain also needs national organic growth beyond its branch areas, that runs through our full SEO agency service alongside the local programme.
Location page architecture
Each branch gets its own page with unique copy: local proof, directions, staff, opening hours and that branch's LocalBusiness markup. No templated doorway pages, which Google's spam policies target.
Profile governance
Naming conventions, category parity and access control across every branch profile, so a franchisee edit in one city cannot break the estate's consistency. New openings, moves and closures are handled with structured NAP change management.
Review workflows at scale
Centralised monitoring with per-branch response, so a two-star review in one town is answered in brand voice within an agreed turnaround, and branch-level review velocity is visible in reporting.
Per-location reporting
Map Pack positions, profile actions, calls and direction requests reported branch by branch, not blended into one vanity average. Underperforming locations become visible and fixable.
Citation Matrix
Local Citation Matrix - Top 25 Directories Ranked
Most agencies cite the same 5-10 directories and call it 'citation building'. Below is the priority-weighted matrix we use - the top 25 citation sources ranked by referral signal weight (DR + traffic + relevance). Brands cited across all 25 outrank brands cited across 5 by a substantial margin.

CTR Reality
Map Pack vs Page-1 Organic - Where Local Searches Actually Click
For local-intent queries, the click distribution looks nothing like general SERPs. Below is the typical CTR split we see across local-intent queries - Map Pack positions versus traditional page-1 organic. Map Pack #1 routinely out-clicks organic #1. Most local SEO budgets ignore this split.

GBP-Only vs Full Local SEO
GBP-Only vs Full Local SEO - What Each Delivers
| Dimension | GBP-only management | Full Local SEO (Visionary) |
|---|---|---|
| Maturity stage reachable | Stage 1-2 | Stage 4 |
| Map Pack 3-pack visibility | Branded queries only | All-intent queries |
| Page-1 organic local terms | Limited | Strong |
| Citation parity | n/a | Top-25 matrix |
| Review velocity strategy | Reactive | Proactive + response governance |
| Schema coverage | n/a | LocalBusiness + Review + Service + FAQ |
| Multi-location governance | Per-listing | Coordinated across portfolio |
| Best for | Single-location, sub-£1K monthly | Multi-location, growth-stage, competitive verticals |
| Typical fee | £200-£600/mo | £800-£3,000/mo |
GBP-only is fine if your competitive set is sub-DR-30 single-location operators. As soon as competitors start running citations + reviews + schema, GBP-only stops keeping up.

"Chris is a real master of SEO and PPC. I'll never forget the time he discovered what could have been a catastrophic SEO issue, prior to a new big website launch that would have cost the business £100,000s (that every other so-called SEO expert we'd engaged had missed)."
