Dental PPC Agency
Dental PPC Agency Built for New Patient Bookings
Specialist paid search and advertising management for dental practices, orthodontists, and cosmetic dentistry clinics. We build PPC strategies that fill your appointment book with high-value patients — implants, Invisalign, veneers, and cosmetic treatments. Senior specialists only. No contracts.

Companies we've worked with
Visionary Marketing is a UK Google Ads agency for private dental practices — single-chair clinics through multi-site dental groups. Treatment-specific campaign structure (implants, Invisalign, cosmetic, ortho, check-ups), GDC-compliant ad copy, practice management system integration with Software of Excellence, Dentally, Carestack and Pabau. No long-term contracts.
Treatment spine
Different Treatments, Different Stories
Five treatment categories, five distinct PPC stories. We build campaigns around treatment economics — not around generic "dental ads" wrappers.
Implants
A high-stakes, high-value decision for the patient. They've often researched for months — sometimes years — before they search 'dental implants near me' and click an ad. The ad and landing page need to address worry — pain, cost, time off work, success rates — before they address treatment specifics. Cost-per-implant on properly-built campaigns: £180–£420 per booked consultation. Treatment closes at 30–35% (consultation-to-paying-patient). Average treatment value: £4,200 for a single implant, materially higher for full-arch cases. The economics work because LTV is high and lifetime referral value (a satisfied implant patient often refers 2–3 others over the next decade) compounds the per-patient acquisition cost.
Invisalign and clear aligners
An aesthetic decision driven by visibility — usually triggered by an upcoming life event (wedding, job change, return to dating), or by the patient's own visual self-assessment in photos. Ads work harder when they show before/after content (compliantly — GDC marketing guidance applies, treatment outcomes can't be presented as guaranteed). Invisalign Diamond practices get higher trust signals in ad copy. Cost-per-consult typically £120–£280. Treatment closes at 25–30% — slightly lower than implants because the buyer pool is younger, more comparison-shopping, and more price-sensitive. Average treatment value: £2,800–£4,200 depending on case complexity.
Cosmetic dentistry — veneers, whitening, smile makeovers
Sits between implants and Invisalign in buyer mindset. Higher trust signals required than for routine treatments, lower clinical-evidence-based content than for implants. Average treatment values often higher than implants when packaged as smile makeovers (£6k–£18k for a 6-veneer makeover). CPC range: £3–£5 per click. The big optimisation lever here is landing-page imagery (compliantly handled before/after content) and trust-signal-led ad copy referencing named cosmetic dentists with verifiable credentials.
Orthodontics for adults
A fast-growing private market. Ad copy needs to address adult-specific concerns (treatment time, discretion, aesthetic outcome — 'will I look like a teenager with braces?'). Practice positioning matters more than treatment specifics here — 'discreet adult orthodontics' and 'Invisalign-approved practice' win against generic 'orthodontist near me' copy. Children's orthodontics is a separate campaign with different keyword strategy and parent-targeted ad copy, often coupled with NHS-eligibility-check content.
Check-ups and hygiene
A high-volume, low-CPC channel that fills the diary base load and supports implant / Invisalign / cosmetic patient acquisition through cross-sell. Online-booking integration is essential — manual phone-to-book conversion drops these from £14 cost-per-booking to £40+ because patients drop off when forced to call within practice opening hours. Hygiene-only patients have lower per-visit value but extremely high LTV (decades of repeat visits) and disproportionately high cross-sell rates into Invisalign and cosmetic treatments later in their patient lifecycle.

South-East Cosmetic Dental Practice: £680 to £215 Cost Per Booked Implant in 9 Months
A two-chair private dental practice in Surrey, focusing on implants, Invisalign, and cosmetic dentistry. Three principal dentists, all GDC-registered with treatment specialisms in implant restoration and orthodontics. Practice turnover around £1.4M, with implants running 18–22% of monthly revenue and growth ambitions to take that to 35% within 18 months. They were spending £4,800/month on Google Ads via a generalist marketing agency that ran one campaign covering all treatments. The practice owner could see the spend in the agency's dashboard but had no way to attribute booked appointments back to specific campaigns or treatments. Cost per booked implant consultation was estimated at £680 — based on a rough monthly tally from the front desk, not on closed-loop attribution.
We rebuilt the account into five treatment-specific campaigns. Implants got their own campaign, with the highest CPC tolerance, longest research cycle, and tightest landing-page targeting — pain, cost and time-off-work content addressed upfront. Invisalign Diamond status (which the practice held but wasn't using as a marketing differentiator) became a primary trust signal in ad copy and landing-page hero blocks. Cosmetic veneers and smile makeovers were separated from implants because the audience is structurally different — younger, more aesthetic-led, more comparison-shopping. Adult orthodontics targeted "discreet braces for adults" and "Invisalign vs braces" research-stage queries that the previous generalist account never bid on. Hygiene and check-ups ran as a high-volume, low-CPC base-load campaign feeding the diary for the cross-sell pipeline.
Practice management integration was the second piece. Software of Excellence (SOE) was integrated with Google Ads via offline conversion uploads — every booked appointment, every started treatment, every completed treatment fed back into Google Ads as conversion data. Smart bidding optimised against completed treatments rather than form fills. The algorithm started biasing budget toward implants and Invisalign — the high-value treatments — and away from generic "dentist near me" enquiries that converted to lower-value check-ups but at lower per-click cost. Total spend held flat at £4,800/month through the rebuild; treatment mix changed materially.
By month 6, cost per booked implant consultation was £315. By month 9, it was £215 — a 68% reduction against the starting baseline. Implant treatment volume per month went from 4 to 14. Invisalign cases per month went from 2 to 11. Veneer cases held steady at 3–5/month but with higher average treatment value because the campaign now specifically targeted full-arch and 6-veneer cases rather than single-tooth requests. Total practice revenue from PPC-attributable patients grew 240% YoY. The practice took on an additional implant dentist in month 8 to keep up with treatment volume — a hire decision driven entirely by PPC pipeline, not by previous demand patterns.
"We thought £680 per booked implant was just what private dental PPC cost. Visionary cut that nearly to a third in nine months. The growth has paid for itself many times over — we're hiring a third implant dentist next quarter purely to handle the volume."
vs Hiring
vs Hiring a Dental Marketing Specialist
Most growing dental practices choose between hiring an in-house marketing manager (£35k–£50k including on-costs) and outsourcing to a specialist. The honest tradeoff: in-house gives you ownership and integration with the practice operation. Specialist gives you depth on the specific channel — in our case, the Google Ads policy knowledge, smart-bidding configuration and practice-management-system integration that takes a new hire 6–12 months to build.
Practices over 3 chairs / £1.5M revenue typically benefit from both — an in-house marketing person owning patient experience and brand, plus us running paid acquisition specifically. Below that scale, the specialist-only route usually delivers better unit economics. The hybrid model (in-house + specialist) is where the strongest growth practices end up; the choice usually isn't "which one" but "in what order" — most practices hire us first while building toward an in-house hire as revenue scales.

Common questions from dental practice owners
Direct Answers on GDC, PMS Integration, and Cost Per Treatment
Can dental practices advertise on Google Ads?
Yes. Dentistry isn't restricted under Google's healthcare advertising policy the way prescription medicines are. The General Dental Council's marketing guidance applies to ad copy and landing-page content — no superlatives without substantiation, balanced presentation of risk and benefit, GDC registration prominently displayed, no comparative claims about other practitioners. We pre-flight all ad copy against the GDC's marketing standards before launch, so campaigns don't go live, get reported, then get pulled. Most disapprovals or GDC complaints are avoidable with proper compliance training.
What's a realistic cost per booked treatment?
Treatment-dependent. Implants £180–£420 per booked consultation, treatment close at 30–35% giving £600–£1,400 per signed treatment against £4,200 average value. Invisalign £120–£280 per consult, similar economics. Veneers / cosmetic £150–£320 per consult. Check-ups £8–£18 per booking. The calculator above models the unit economics by treatment. The first audit gives you firm numbers based on your actual close rates, average treatment values, and current campaign performance.
How does this differ from dental SEO?
PPC delivers patient enquiries within 30 days; SEO delivers them within 6 months. Most practices want both. PPC fills the diary fast and lets you scale spend up or down with treatment-room capacity. SEO builds compounding organic visibility that costs less per enquiry over time but takes longer to materialise. We run both side-by-side with shared reporting that attributes signed treatments back to the originating channel. Sister page: /seo/dental-seo-agency for the organic side of the story.
Can you integrate with our practice management system?
Yes. We integrate with Dentally, Software of Excellence (SOE), Carestack, Pabau, and Practice Plan via offline conversion uploads. Booked appointments and completed treatments come back into Google Ads as offline conversion data. Smart bidding then optimises against completed treatments rather than form fills, biasing budget toward the treatments that actually generate revenue. Integration usually takes 2–3 weeks during onboarding for established PMS platforms.
What about NHS patients vs private?
We focus exclusively on private. NHS-only practices don't typically benefit from Google Ads — limited capacity, no fee variability, and the NHS UDA system doesn't reward marketing-driven volume in a way that justifies PPC investment. Mixed practices use Google Ads to drive private treatment enquiries (implants, Invisalign, cosmetic, private-only orthodontics) while NHS continues through standard NHS routes. We don't advertise NHS services through PPC because the conversion event isn't appropriate for paid acquisition.
How fast can we be live?
Two weeks from signed engagement to launch. Week 1: scoping, account access, GDC compliance pre-flight on ad copy, treatment-priority confirmation with practice owner. Week 2: campaign build, landing-page review (if landing pages need adjustments we'll flag at scoping), conversion tracking setup, PMS integration kickoff. First booked appointments typically arrive within 4–6 weeks of go-live. Material cost-per-treatment optimisation arrives between months 3 and 6 as smart bidding accumulates conversion data.
Can you handle multi-site dental groups?
Yes. Multi-site groups need separate campaigns per location (or per cluster of locations sharing a treatment-room calendar). We've worked with 2-site, 4-site and 8-site groups. Larger groups (10+ sites) move into bespoke pricing because the management overhead — separate campaigns per site, separate ad-policy compliance review per franchise sub-brand, separate offline-conversion uploads per PMS instance — scales materially with site count. Quote at scoping.
What happens at month six if we're not happy?
Honest answer — we tell you so before you have to ask. Engagements run month-to-month with 30 days' notice. We don't lock practices into 12-month contracts. Most clients past month six stay through year two; some don't, and that's fine — the model only works if both sides are getting value. If at month six the cost-per-booked-treatment isn't moving toward the target we agreed at scoping, we'll either reset the brief (sometimes the issue is on your front-desk-conversion side rather than our acquisition side) or end the engagement cleanly.

Dental Ads Problems We Fix Every Week
These are the most common issues we see with dental Google Ads accounts.
Attracting NHS Enquiries Instead of Private?
Your paid advertising attracts patients looking for NHS dental services when you're a private dental practice. Wasted budget on unqualified clicks. We build keyword strategies with aggressive negative keyword lists that filter out NHS searches and focus on private, insured, and self-paying patients.
High CPCs for Dental Implants?
Dental implant keywords are some of the most expensive in healthcare PPC — £10-25 per click. Without precise targeting and landing page optimisation, you're burning through your paid advertising budget fast. We structure implant campaigns with tight geographic targeting, high-intent match types, and conversion-optimised landing pages.
No Tracking From Click to Seated Patient?
You're getting phone calls and form fills, but you can't tell which campaigns generate actual booked patients vs. tyre-kickers. We implement call tracking, form attribution, and patient booking integration so you see your real cost per seated patient — the only metric that matters.
Losing to Corporate Dental Chains?
Corporate dental groups have massive budgets. You can't outspend them, but you can outsmart them. We build hyper-local campaigns with radius targeting around your practice, showcase your team's expertise in ad copy, and create landing page recommendations that convert better than corporate template sites.
PMax Showing Ads for Wrong Treatments?
Performance Max without proper treatment segmentation shows your ads for services you don't prioritise — or don't offer at all. We configure PMax with treatment-specific asset groups and audience signals so your budget goes where the revenue is.
Website Doesn't Convert Ad Traffic?
You're paying for clicks but your website doesn't turn visitors into appointment bookings. Generic homepages, no clear call-to-action, no treatment-specific landing pages. We recommend landing page improvements that directly increase your booking rate from paid traffic.
"We were bleeding money on ads that brought in NHS enquiries. Visionary restructured our campaigns and added NHS filtering — within weeks, our enquiry quality improved and our cost per patient dropped by nearly 40%. Now we only see private patients in our pipeline."
Sarah Mitchell
Practice Director, Harley Street Dental Practice
"As a cosmetic dentistry clinic, we needed an agency that understood our treatment pricing and patient psychology. Visionary built separate campaigns for veneers, composite bonding, and smile makeovers. Each patient now costs us less, and we're booking out weeks in advance."
Dr James Patterson
Cosmetic Dentist, Contemporary Smile Studio
Rocketseed: All-Time Google Ads Lead Record in 3 Months
Rocketseed's previous freelancer had drifted the account into a spam-optimisation loop — the bid algorithm was learning from form fills the sales team wouldn't action. Our Approach
We Don't Just Run Dental Ads. We Fill Your Chair.
What separates generic PPC from dental-specialist PPC management.
Treatment-Level Campaign Strategy
Not all dental services are equal. Implants at £2,500+ per patient deserve different budgets and bids than routine check-ups.
We build separate Google Ads campaigns for each high-value treatment — implants, Invisalign, veneers, composite bonding, crowns — with dedicated keywords, ad copy, and landing pages. Your budget concentrates where the revenue is highest.
Hyper-Local Targeting
Dental patients search locally — 'dentist near me', 'dental implants [city]', 'emergency dentist [area]'.
We build campaigns with precise radius targeting around your dental practice (typically 5-15 miles depending on treatment type), local ad extensions showing your address and phone number, and geo-specific landing page recommendations that match the patient's location.
Cost Per Seated Patient
Most agencies report on cost per click or cost per enquiry. Neither tells you what you need to know — what does each patient who actually sits in your chair cost?
We implement call tracking, form attribution, and wherever possible, integration with your practice management software to track from ad click to booked appointment. This patient acquisition tracking ensures every pound of paid advertising spend is accountable.
Compliance Without Compromise
Dental advertising has Google policy restrictions — treatment claims, before/after imagery, and health guarantees all need careful handling.
We write ad copy that stays compliant while still compelling patients to choose your practice. Your ads run without interruption or disapprovals.

How We Manage Dental Google Ads
Dental Practice Audit
Full review of your current Google Ads setup — treatment coverage, keyword strategy, geographic targeting, call tracking, landing pages, and compliance. Every gap documented. You get a written audit report with prioritised recommendations.
Call Tracking & Attribution Setup
Dynamic call tracking with unique numbers per campaign. Form submission tracking with source attribution. Where possible, integration with your practice management system (Dentally, Klient, Curve, SOE) to track booked appointments, not just enquiries.
Treatment-Level Campaign Architecture
Separate campaigns for each high-value treatment. Implants, Invisalign, cosmetic, emergency, general — each with dedicated keywords, ad copy, landing page recommendations, and budgets. Treatment margin determines budget allocation and bid strategy.
Bid Strategy & Geographic Targeting
Radius bidding around your practice locations. Higher bids for high-value treatment searches. Target CPA bidding calibrated to your patient lifetime value. Budget allocated by treatment profitability and booking likelihood.
Continuous Optimisation
Weekly optimisation — search term analysis, NHS query exclusions, ad copy testing within compliance guidelines, competitor monitoring, and landing page performance tracking. Active management, not autopilot. You get weekly updates.
Scale & Expand
New treatment campaigns, expanded geographic radius, additional practice locations, increased budgets. Every expansion tested to maintain cost per patient targets and ROI. Scaling that actually works.
